Hydrant Snorkel raises the hydrant access above the snow level to allow for quick water solutions.

The requirements of hydrant rating classification are "to supply water within 4 minutes of arrival on scene"

The Hydrant Snorkel was Invented by a firefighter, for firefighters

Fire departments around the world have a dilemma every winter; how to keep fire hydrants clear of snow. In most cities with snowfall in the winter, hydrants become buried by snow or by snowplows clearing roadways. Regulation time allowed by law to access water from a hydrant is 4 minutes. Meeting the regulation is not possible when hydrants are buried in snow; often hydrants cannot be located right away. When a structure is burning, delays in accessing water result in unnecessary losses including loss of life. John Creel invented the Hydrant Snorkel as a solution. By applying the Hydrant Snorkel regulation standards are met even under heavy snow loads. Hydrants are effectively elevated above the snowline.
